Automation of Performance Appraisal

Frontier e-HR exhibits continued momentum in the market with SEP Plating Division deciding to automate their Performance Appraisal process with Frontier e-HR system late last year.

Cang Ping Ping, Executive Supervisor of Business Management Department elaborated on how performance review is conducted in her company, “Performance Appraisal is a process carried out on a quarterly basis here in SEP Plating Division, where our employees would submit their KPIs in a paper form to their managers to be qualified and approved, before it was routed to the administrators. Our role will then be to evaluate if they are aligned with the organization and department goals.”

Prior to the implementation of Frontier e-HR, as the first step, rolling out of the timeline and monitoring of KPI submission needed to be manually performed. Afterward, upon approval from managers, administrators were required to collect all the paper forms submission which slowly became a burden as the number of records grew.

Realizing that this was not a sustainable procedure, the management of SEP Plating Division decided to automate this area. The main objective is to find a system which besides having the ability to eliminate the hard copy records, is also comprehensive enough to cater to the current process in order not to affect the learning curve.

SEP Plating Division also included the analytics functions as one of their requirements, the objective is obviously as a support to make better-informed decisions based on different dimensions.

Ping Ping further stressed on the importance of automation, “With a software, we can always refer to past appraisal records conveniently, it helps us to perform a comparison from various perspectives whether based on departmental level, position and even age and gender, furthermore it can be used to make a better analysis.”

Successful Implementation of Frontier e-HR Performance Appraisal System

During the course of three months, implementation of Performance Appraisal System has been successfully carried out. Ping Ping commented that the overall experience of dealing with Frontier e-HR’s consultant has been splendid.

Last month, April 2017, the employees of SEP Plating Division have started to submit their KPIs through a system and no more paper hard copies will need to be utilized for this process
